HP Canada has partnered with Sprouter, an online resource for small business owners, on a new business-to-business marketing initiative called the HP Officejet Challenge.
Developed in tandem with HP’s PR agency, Hill & Knowlton, the eight-week program will see six small businesses competing in a series of bi-weekly challenges using an HP printer – the Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One – and blogging about their experiences.
The challenges will showcase the Officejet printer’s capabilities by inviting participants to set up a wireless printing network, discover ways to reduce paper waste and learn cost-effective ways to create professional marketing materials. In addition to regular blog posts, participants may also be asked to submit photos and videos to complete the challenge.
The campaign is housed at a dedicated Sprouter website.
“Small businesses are always looking to use technology and their offices more efficiently, and this way we’re allowing it to be shared,” said Deb Adamson, a segment manager in HP Canada’s imaging and printing group.
A contest component will see the winning company win an HP prize pack valued at $2,500. Adamson, Sprouter CEO Sarah Prevette and Toronto business writer and consultant Rick Spence will judge the contest.
The contest is being promoted through Sprouter’s weekly newsletter, Facebook page and Twitter feed, while HP is also sharing updates on its Facebook page.
