Brick Brewing Co. Ltd. said Thursday that Anheuser-Busch Inc. and Labatt Brewing Co. have amended its lawsuit against the brewer accusing the company of violating its trademarks and copyrights for Bud Light Lime.
Brick Brewing said the revised claim removes assertions that Brick has depreciated goodwill in Anheuser-Busch’s and Labatt’s trade-marks and changes the claim of punitive damages.
Last month, Labatt accused Brick of piggy-backing on Bud Light Lime’s label, packaging and other design elements calling Brick’s labels and secondary packaging “very similar” to Bud Light Lime.
Earlier this year, Brick agreed to change the label used for its Red Baron beer as part of a copyright and trademark settlement with Labatt.
Labatt had sued Brick and alleged the label and secondary packaging for Brick’s Red Baron created confusion with Labatt’s Brava brand.
