LG focuses on tone, not tech, for Kompressor ad

LG has launched a Québec–based print ad in support of its Kompressor model of vacuums from Publicis Montréal, which marks the first effort from the agency since taking over the account six months ago.

To support its Kompressor vacuums, LG has launched a print campaign in Quebec from Publicis Montréal, marking the first effort from the agency since taking over the account six months ago.

The ad features an illustration of a cat that has been compacted thanks to the vacuum’s dust compression technology. The tagline reads: “Experience the new Kompressor system.”

Targeting young urbanites, the ad moves away from the technology-heavy advertising that dominates this sector, said Nicolas Massey, vice-president, creative director at Publicis Montréal

“We wanted to do ads that will make you smile and enjoy life,” said Massey, who described the ad as “creative,” “light” and “friendly.”

The ad is part of a larger campaign that focuses on various LG products and features. Additional ads will launch in the coming weeks, along with a 3D television commercial and a viral campaign, said Massey.
