Toronto-based Kaiser Lachance Communications has hired Lise Huneault as vice-president and managing director of its Montreal office, which opened last year.

A 25-year PR vet, Huneault has held communications positions at Mosaïcultures Internationales du Montréal and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada, as well as a number of PR firms including MS&L, National and Fleishman-Hillard.

Huneault will oversee the Quebec work for Kaiser Lachance’s existing clients and is responsible for growing the Montreal office, which has just one other full-time staff member and a team of freelancers and consultants.

“We kind of did a soft launch in Montreal. The goal was to serve our [existing] clients locally first and foremost,” said Anne Lachance, managing partner and president of Kaiser Lachance Communications. “So we’ve done that, it’s working well and now it’s time to take the next logical step and be more proactive and get more local business.”

Lachance worked with Huneault at Fleishman-Hillard a decade ago and said she always had Huneault in the back of her mind when the Montreal office opened. “She is just a wonderful person to start off with,” said Lachance. “She has a great personality and a super strong work ethic. She’s very well connected in Montreal and she does great work. Once you start start checking off all the boxes, she was the natural choice for us.”
