Canada Post is jumping on the celeb-hunting bandwagon with its latest mobile app. Positioned as a way to capture some of the glamour surrounding the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the app for Blackberry, iPhone, iPad and Android devices allows users to snap a photo from a standard smartphone and turn it into a stylized postcard with a TIFF-themed frame. The image is then mailed as a postcard.

“Postcards have always been a way to mark a special trip or occasion, but this app puts you in the picture,” says John Swettenham, Canada Post’s general manager of marketing, in a release.

The TIFF frame is part of a ‘send three for the price of two’ deal that runs until Sept. 22. Canada Post has previously released other event-themed frames for holidays and special occasions.
