Lululemon is reporting that over 18,000 consumers have downloaded its new yoga app, Om Finder, since it was released on the App Store on April 11.
The app, developed in-house by the Vancouver-based fitness retailer, let’s consumers search for nearby yoga classes on their smartphone based on their location. Using the app, users can also “favourite” studios and invite friends to attend with them using Facebook Connect. It is currently available for iOS only.
The listings on Om Finder are powered by Mindbody, a yoga booking software, and include over 7,000 studios in 63 countries, including many where Lululemon doesn’t have a physical retail presence. The retailer currently has brick-and-mortar locations in Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, though it’s online store ships to over 20 countries – many of which likely cross over with the areas the app services.
Lululemon previously partnered with Zite, a magazine app, in 2011 to offer content from the brand’s blog in the app’s fitness section.
Here’s a trailer for the app Lululemon uploaded to YouTube on the day of its release.
