Magazines Canada has launched a print advertising campaign that uses small images culled from thousands of magazine covers to create iconic Canadian images.
The campaign launched earlier this week in Genuine Canadian publications. Created by Toronto agency Doug & Serge, the mosaic-style advertisements portray images such as pond hockey, Muskoka chairs, and the face of author Margaret Atwood.
Barbara Bates, executive director, circulation marketing for Magazines Canada, said the creative style of the executions reflects the diversity of both Canada’s culture and its roster of magazines.
“It sort of goes along with the idea of Canada as a mosaic of multiple cultures, so we built on that theme using various magazines,” said Bates. “We got to highlight multiple magazines at the same time.”
Genuine Canadian publications include Canadian Family, BC Business and Western Sportsman.
