• Daily deals site Groupon has launched a rewards program that allows its most active users to unlock special offers.

• Clover Leaf Seafoods is giving new meaning to the term “fast food.” The company has enlisted the help of celebrity chef Michael P. Olive to create low-calorie, easy-to-make versions of  typical fast food fare using flavoured tuna products. The recipes can be found here.

• Maple Leaf Foods spent a lot of dough on its new bakery in Hamilton, Ont. The venture cost around $100 million and is said to be Canada’s largest bakery. It will support up to 300 full-time jobs with an additional 30 seasonal hourly positions and produce white and whole wheat breads, buns, English muffins and tortillas using 100% Canadian wheat.

• Candy maker Mars is ramping up its corporate social responsibility initiative, promising to cut greenhouse gas emissions from its factories by 2040.
