Retailers beware: if Marketing’s not-so-scientific reader poll represents the majority of shoppers, you’re probably seeing some significant drop in store visitors this Christmas.

Marketing asked readers “Are you shopping online to buy Christmas presents in 2010?” in its weekly poll, which launched Monday.

Of the five available answers, the vast majority–54.6%–chose “Malls are for suckers. [Online shopping is] a regular part of my holiday shopping.”

One hopes there aren’t too many retail marketers included in that group.
