The National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) has put $3.5 million in donated media on the auction block for its 18th annual ad auction.

Advertising, media agencies, advertisers or organizations have until April 17 to bid on more than 300 media packages—including conventional and specialty television, radio, magazine, newspaper, outdoor and out-of-home, online, research, production and digital signage—at NabsAdAuction.org or EncanMedia.org in Quebec.

The packages have been donated by national, regional and local media, and range in value from $200 to $100,000, starting at 50% off rate-card value.

“Clearly, our advertising and communications industry has been challenged by the current business environment, so there’s never been a more important time and critical need for NABS,” said Mark Spencer, vice-president, advertising of National Post and NABS’ chair of the board of directors. “We owe a great deal of appreciation and thanks to the many media organizations across Canada that have provided recognition and generous support.”

NABS provides assistance to professionals in the communications industry who may need help due to illness, injury, unemployment, or financial difficulties. The annual auction is NABS’ largest fundraising program.

Most auction packages are available for use up to 12 months from the time of purchase. The media can be viewed online and anyone seeking additional information can contact Amanda Fearon at amandaf@nabs.org or 1-800-661-6227.
