Quebec’s Ministry of Health and Social Services is running an awareness campaign on sexually transmitted diseases created by LG2 in Quebec City.

The campaign consists of three different bus shelter posters and Zoom Media bathroom cards that address chlamydia, syphilis and HIV. Each illustration is a medical strain of the disease seen under a microscope, explained LG2 creative director Luc Du Sault.

“The idea was to communicate to young Quebec adults that the diseases still exist and we presented them in the form of a present, but an unwanted present with to and from cards.”

The French copy reads, “La Chlamydia se donne encore” (Chlamydia is still around), while in English the ad reads, “Nobody wants to get Chlamydia.” The copy is repeated in the syphilis and HIV ads.

The French signature, C’est s<0x00FB>r,” means both “It’s obvious” and “It’s safe,” while the English copy says “Be safe.” Both messages are imposed over a condom package.

Because of Quebec’s language laws, the English campaign will only appear on Zoom cards in restaurants and bars, while the French campaign will be in bus shelters as well as on Zoom cards.

TouchéPHD handled the media buy.
