DavidsTea is assembling what it calls “the world’s greatest tea and travel scrapbook” in a contest that’s asking tea drinkers to send photos to Instagram of their “tea-fuelled travels.”
The #TeaTravels contest was launched in July on DavidsTea’s monthly newsletter and blog, Steeped Thoughts. It has since been featured prominently on DavidsTea’s new website and promoted on its social channels.
“Tea is often seen as the kind of beverage that you drink at home, but as we started looking at the pictures our fans were tagging, we noticed that a lot of them were taking tea with them wherever they went,” says Youri Hollier, content marketing manager at Montreal-based DavidsTea. “We wanted to celebrate these tea-filled adventures while encouraging more people to travel with tea.”
Each selected photo is added to a curated gallery (or scrapbook) that highlights where people are drinking tea around the world. So far, DavidsTea has received more than 500 photos, taken everywhere from northern Quebec to northern Japan, and the blog article has received more than 10,000 visits.
The contest was created in-house using Curalate’s promotions dashboard.
The winner of the #TeaTravels contest, selected at random from eligible entries, will receive the “ultimate tea travel kit” valued at $250.
