New Toronto restaurant Montecito hires NKPR

The PR shop will spearhead the branding, media relations and launch event

NKPR has been hired to lead the launch and communications strategy for Montecito, a new restaurant opening in Toronto’s entertainment district this summer.

The restaurant is a partnership between Hollywood director and Toronto native Ivan Reitman, California chef Jonathan Waxman, and Tom and Jordan Bitove of Toronto-based Innov8 Hospitality.

NKRP will spearhead the branding, media relations and launch event for the 12,000-square-foot, 280-seat restaurant.

The PR firm is aiming to build significant buzz for Montecito’s opening, and keep the excitement going through media relations, partnerships, events and social media. Hard-hat tours hosted by NKPR will give media the first behind-the-scenes look at Montecito in late May.

The venue, which also includes an event space with a private entrance, is set to open in late June.
