On The Move: Changes at IPG Mediabrands and Ari Agency

A weekly update of who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

MATT RAMELLA was promoted to head of digital strategy and partnerships at IPG Mediabrands. He was previously VP of digital at UM Canada, and will continue to work with UM clients in his new role. Additionally, he will work with digital media partners such as Facebook and Google and provide strategic counsel for major clients within UM and Initiative. Ramella will also lead all digital education and training initiatives for Mediabrands.

Ari Agency hired MARCIA THOMPSON as an executive recruiter. Over the last two decades she has held leadership positions at such agencies as TBWA, Leo Burnett, BBDO and Dentsu, and was most recently the VP, director of operations and resource management at Y&R/Blue Hive. Thompson has worked across a range of agency disciplines and brands in CPG, automotive, finance, healthcare and retail categories.

MAI DUONG joined Bleublancrouge as a freelance account director, digital media. She has more than 14 years of experience in media strategy at several major Canadian agencies. She will spend the next few months growing the agency’s media department.
