On the Move: new hires at Citizen, The Hive, Carat, Taxi

TBWA\Toronto hired MARK PILEGGI, former VP global group director at Proximity New York. Pillegi will lead TBWA’s digital practice in Toronto as director of digital and operations. He was with Proximity for eight years, and before that worked in account management at Fuse and Arnold Worldwide.

88 Creative brought on CORY INGWERSEN as senior designer, who will handle design and branding for all social media clients. Ingwersen previously worked as an art director at The Mars Agency. 88 Creative also welcomed MEAGHAN ZABINSKY as digital account coordinator, who joined from Metroland Digital.

CAROLINE MURPHY was hired by MSLGroup to co-lead its consumer practice as SVP consumer practice leader, Canada. The group existing SVP director, Nadia Beale, will continue to manage the agency’s style and beauty brand clients, while Murphy will oversee expansion of its lifestyle portfolio. Murphy was most recently VP of digital, PR and social media at Mosaic, and has previously worked at Harbinger, Veritas and DDB.

The Hive expanded its creative team by six, in response to new business from OLG, Unilever’s Tresemme, Labatt and the Ontario Government. The additions include new art director CHRISTIAN BAUER, who joins from Saatchi & Saatchi; ROBERT CAPPUCCITTI and MEAGAN EVELEIGH from Unitas; MICHAEL POTASH from Cossette; and junior creatives ANNA CUMYN and JAMES MCGUIRE.

Citizen Relations welcomed two new VPs, SHERRY BOISVERT and ZAIGHAM ZULQERNAIN. Boisvert, previously a VP at National and before that at Ketchum, will oversee PR strategies for both B2B and B2C clients. Zulqernain, as VP of digital, will focus on digital PR, content strategy and technology solutions. He comes from a content background, having been editor-in-chief of pop culture e-zine Xavierpop, digital strategist at The Experience Company, and senior content strategist at Critical Mass.

Taxi created a new senior executive team: VP client operations North America MATT SHOOM-KIRSCH, VP brand experience SEAN MCDONALD and VP technology BEN FEIST, all internal promotions. RUSS STEDMAN will take over from Shoom-Kirsch as general manager of Taxi Toronto, while DANIEL SHEARER, formerly director of the Kraft account, takes the lead at Taxi 2.

Carat Canada hired FIONA MCLAUGHLIN as VP of communications planning. McLaughlin was previously group account director at ZenithOptimedia, where she led media planning for 30 provincial government agencies as the Government of Ontario AOR leader. At Carat she will lead media strategy on key agency accounts like P&G.
