On The Move: Promotions at Groupe V Média, Stephen Thomas

Sylvain Venne

SYLVAIN VENNE was promoted from general manager of local and regional sales to vice-president of sales at Groupe V Média in Montreal. Before joining the Groupe V Média team in 2014, Venne held various management-level positions in local and regional sales at Quebecor, Gesca and Rythme FM.

MARK ROSE was hired to lead Interbrand‘s new brand insight group in Canada. Rose began his career in the global brand valuation group at Interbrand London and then led brand valuation at Interbrand Canada. During his career, Rose has also worked with organizations such as Barclays, BASF, FRHI, LEGO, Sage and UPS.

Stephen Thomas promoted SIMREN DEOGUN to director, digital innovation. Deogun has risen through the ranks since starting with the agency in 2011 as an account executive, digital. In her most recent position as senior account manager, digital & marketing services, she was the account lead for clients such as  MSF Canada, Cuso International and Kids Help Phone. Her new position is effective immediately.

Trevor Jurgens

Fuse Marketing in Toronto added eight members to its team. LISA STEPHENSON joined as account director, SAIRA SABRI as account manager, TAYLOR O’NEILL as account coordinator, NICOLE BLACK as digital project manager, ANTHEA MISLAN as art director and KATRINA RICCIO as copywriter and French translator. ALAN KOUTSARIS now leads strategic partnerships, while NICOLE FORTEN as marketing manager — a newly created role within the agency.

Calgary’s Flipp Advertising hired TREVOR JURGENS as account director to support the agency’s B.C. clients. Jurgens has worked on the west coast for seven years specializing in digital strategy and branding for Vancouver 2010, BCIT and Port Metro Vancouver.

Ad agency Bob welcomed STÈPHANE JEAN as its creative director. Jean was most recently a creative director at Terrain Marketing and Tank communications before that. During his career as a creative director, he has worked on big name brands such as Uniprix, la Cage aux Sports, Cora, the Royal Canadian Mint and Wawanesa.
