Porsche Cars Canada has appointed Margareta Mahlstedt-Karayiannis as its new marketing director, hiring her away from a competitor.
Mahlstedt-Karayiannis (pictured above) is coming over to Porsche Cars Canada on Feb. 22 from Volvo Cars Canada, where she had been vice-president of marketing since 2013. She’s also worked in marketing and branding at companies such as Rogers and BMW Group Canada.
She replaces Alexander Schildt, who is returning to Germany in early March, the company said.
Porsche Cars Canada, an independent subsidiary of Germany-based Porsche AG, also said it appointed Thomas Illner as director of network development starting on March 1. He has been after sales director at the company for the past five years, after coming over from Porsche Switzerland in 2010.
Illner replaces John Cappella, who will be managing director of the future Porsche Centre North Toronto set to open in 2017, Porsche’s fourth dealership in the Greater Toronto Area.
Roberto De Prisco, from Porsche Switzerland, will become the new director of after sales.
