Canadian figure skater and 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Joannie Rochette is the latest Olympian to become a Birks brand ambassador.
Rochette will wear Birks jewelry at public and private engagements, and will eventually design her own collection, said Keren Blankrot acting director, public relations, Birks & Mayors Inc.
“Joannie is an ideal face for Birks because she is Canadian, she commands an enormous fan base,” said Blankrot. “Following that, [she] is in line with Birks’ target audience; she is talented, artistically inclined and elegant.”
Rochette follows in the footsteps of Canadian mogul skier Jennifer Heil who became a brand ambassador in 2009, and has her own collection that includes silver bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings.
