Tourism Saskatoon is repositioning the city to appeal to the meetings and convention industry with the launch of its new logo and tag line “Saskatoon is Calling.”

“We’ve been running with an old campaign for three years and it was time to refresh it,” said Todd Brandt, president and CEO. The previous tag was “The Secret is in Saskatoon.”

Agency of record Punch Canada of Toronto is behind the latest marketing campaign, which will run on multiple platforms including leisure, convention and trade media.

“This isn’t an overall brand change,” said Brandt. “It’s a signal that Saskatoon is going to be more aggressive in getting out and calling on people and convincing them that this is a great destination to spend some time visiting.”

Saskatoon is Canada’s fastest growing city with the highest occupancy rates, said Brandt. The non-profit visitor and convention marketing bureau has 460 members with an annual marketing budget of $3 million.
