As the official spirits sponsor of the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Skyy Vodka is once again rolling out the blue carpet for movie enthusiasts.

As part of its sponsorship, the PMA Canada brand has launched an expansive marketing campaign that includes a filmmaker award, a retail and sampling program, print advertising and two contests.

“We’re excited about the scope of our festival involvement this year,” said Chris Staresinic, senior marketing manager, Skyy Vodka. “We are rolling out dynamic, interactive trade and consumer initiatives designed to give consumers the ultimate VIP Festival experience.”

Skyy is running two contests as part of its sponsorship this year. Readers of Now and Tribute can enter to win festival experiences that include access to parties and high-profile films.

Skyy continues to sponsor the award for Best Canadian First Feature Film, which is selected by a jury of film professionals. The winner takes home $15,000. The vodka brand is supporting the awards program with necktag ads in partnership with the LCBO. For every bottle sold, Skyy will donate $1 to the program.

The print portion of the campaign is running in Hello!, Now magazine, Tribute, Food & Drink and official festival guides.

Once again, Skyy Vodka has created signature festival-inspired premium cocktails that will be served at high-profile parties, as well as official TIFF events. The three original creations incorporate fresh cucumber, ginger-cranberry and pineapple juice-ginger ale.

Festival-goers can tweet their experiences and star sightings using the #SKYYVIP hashtag or follow @SKYYVIP for the latest festival buzz. The Skyy vodka Twitter feed will also be used to give away tickets to exclusive festival events.

The 10-day festival, which begins Sept. 8, brings together top actors, directors and cinematographers from around the globe.

Woody Harrelson, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Clive Owen, Megan Fox, Emily Blunt and Jennifer Garner are slated to attend this year’s festival.
