Heather Morris’ takes a stab at “Most Wonderful Time of the Year”

Not to kill the summer buzz with news of pencils, books and teachers’ dirty looks, but Staples Business Depot will launch its 2011 back-to-school campaign on Aug. 2 with Heather Morris from the hit show Glee.

Morris, who plays cheerleader Brittany Pierce on the musical comedy, shot the add in a Toronto-area store. She sings and dances to the retailer’s “Most Wonderful Time of the Year” jingle.

“She is the perfect fit for our campaign,” said Sandy Salmon, the retailer’s director of advertising, in a statement. “Her upbeat personality and great dance moves bring our theme song to life.”

Facebookers will be able to visit the brand’s page to vote on their favourite dance from the spot while lamenting that the classroom is only one month away.
