An outdoor ad for Telus is bringing out Vancouverites’ naughty side.
At the corner of Granville and Robson Streets, a bus shelter has been transformed into a giant Advent calendar that encourages people to “be naughty” and open it early.
The outside wall features slots that contain a snowman-head that’s stress ball free for the taking.
“We wanted to put a ‘delighter’ out there, and there’s no better place in Vancouver for that than Robson Street,” said Rachael Petersen, director of brand and marketing communications at Telus. “When people are in the busy Christmas mindset, they’ll stop and see this and get a little gift [to brighten] their day.”
The inside wall of the transit shelter features an ad that says, “Naughty or nice, you still get a free Xbox.” The stunt is an extension of Telus’s new “naughty or nice” holiday campaign that launched in November and promotes the free XBox 360 customers receive when they bundle the company’s Optik TV and internet products.
The campaign includes print, radio and out-of-home advertising in B.C. and Alberta that focuses on naughty and nice behaviour from Telus’ red panda “critter.”
