Rogers Media is providing stars seeking a break during the Toronto International Film Festival with a spot to recharge – both literally and figuratively.
The Rogers Hospitality Suite at the Intercontinental Hotel is a place where celebrities can unwind from the frenetic pace of the festival and also take care of the practical matter of charging their devices at free stations and making use of complimentary wifi provided by Rogers Media. It is set up to resemble a Rogers retail store, complete with red stools and a wall of mobile accessories.
While Rogers Media is not an official TIFF sponsor, the company wanted to provide somewhere that Hollywood’s finest could take a breather before they step into the Entertainment City interview room, which Rogers Media’s in-house TV production team is using to do interviews for the Breakfast Television and CityNews daily entertainment segment.
Take-home treats in the suite include Heys Luggage that’s featured on The Shopping Channel, which rebranded last week, and gluten-free cookies provided by Chatelaine. Copies of several Rogers’ magazines are also available for stars that visit the suite.
The interview room (pictured right) features a backdrop styled with a mix of historic and modern global looks and was designed by Cityline guest experts Shai DeLuca-Tamasi and Yanic Simard. It features art by international artists including Randall Tysinger and William Couig and furnishings by Bentley Flanders.
Several Rogers Media brands are getting in on the TIFF action. Beyond the Entertainment City segments on Breakfast Television and CityNews, Brad Smith of The Bachelor fame is reporting from the red carpet, magazines including Flare, Maclean’s and Hello! Canada are covering the festival in their respective properties, and OMNI Television is airing daily multilingual newscasts with TIFF coverage. Rogers Radio stations Kiss 92.5 and 680News are also airing TIFF news throughout the festival.
