U.S. retailer Target is opening two dozen stores in Western Canada this week and next as it rolls toward its target of 124 in Canada this year.

Target says it is opening 10 stores in Alberta, nine in B.C. and three in Manitoba this week.

Next week, the company will open one store in B.C. and another in Alberta.

Target launched its first stores in Canada in Ontario earlier this year.

The company operates almost 1,800 stores in the United States in addition to its new Canadian locations.
