Reebok is getting Montrealers on board for the launch of its Monopoly-inspired footwear collection.
Two street team members dressed as Monopoly mascot Rich Uncle Pennybags will promote the new footwear line in a “Monopolized” 1962 VW Bug in Montreal tomorrow.
The team will distribute scratch and win cards offering 20% or 40% off customers’ next purchase at the Reebok Concept store.
“We are very excited about the Reebok Monopoly footwear line,” said Stewart Clark, marketing manager with Reebok Canada, in a statement. “We feel that such an exciting collection deserves an exciting launch.”
The first wave of the line, created in partnership with toymaker Hasbro Inc., was inspired by Monopoly money, dice, tokens, cards, houses and hotels, and retails for $99.99. A second collection is scheduled to launch in November.
Reebok is also supporting the shoe line with in-store promotions and point-of-purchase materials, produced in house.
The line is available at independent retailers across the country as well as the Reebok concept store.
