Virgin Mobile is letting the public call the shots with the latest addition to its “political endorsement” print campaign.
Starting today, people across the country can vote online at MetroNews.ca for one of four Barack Obama ads, set to run as part of Virgin’s “You Call the Shots” campaign. The campaign touts the wireless company’s commitment to offer better customer care. Announcements running in Metro direct people to the site where they can vote until April 24.
Virgin will run the winning full-page ad in the free daily, April 25.
Virgin had such a massive response to its earlier Hillary Clinton and Eliot Spitzer ads that the cellphone carrier decided to engage the public for its latest effort, said Andrew Bridge, director, brand and communications at Virgin Mobile.
Each Obama has a different thought bubble. Three ads feature head shots of the presidential hopeful with “I think I need to get some new buddies,” “I think my time is finally here,” and “I can’t wait until I get to call the shots” above his head. A bathing suit clad Obama appears in the fourth ad with the thought bubble: “Who cares if I’m a little wet behind the ears.”
