Burger King Canada has launched a national advertising campaign to promote the new Whiplash Whopper, a take on its iconic sandwich but with a spicy kick.
The effort from Taxi 2 includes online and radio, in addition to a 30-second English and French television ad that opens with a man sitting in his lawyer’s office discussing how he’d like to “go after” Burger King because the Whiplash Whopper is too spicy.
The lawyer takes a bite of the sandwich, describing it as “flammable,” “combustible,” and “inextinguishable” before asking what it’s called. He tells his client he has a case once he hears it’s called the “Whiplash.”
“We’re having some fun by saying ‘Don’t say we didn’t warn you,'” said Jason Keown, senior director of marketing for Burger King Canada.
The campaign is running for the next month, with Initiative handling the buy.
