Honda Canada gives car enthusiasts a behind-the-scenes look at Honda Indy Toronto in this 30-minute documentary called Between the Walls.

The video was developed by Grip Ltd. and gives a rare glimpse at what goes into producing the city’s largest sporting event, and how Honda plays a pivotal role. Viewers hear from event organizers as well as race car drivers such as Danica Patrick. The video can be seen here.

In 2008, Honda Canada signed a multi-year agreement for title sponsorship rights to Toronto’s IndyCar race.
Molson had sponsored the event for 20 years, but dropped some of its title sponsorship in 2006 and got out of the race entirely in 2007.

A merger of the Champ Car and the Indy Racing League in early 2008 led to the cancellation of the Toronto race that year.

This year’s race was ratings gold for broadcast partner TSN. The Bell Media-owned sports channel had its largest audience for the Indy in its 14 years of covering it. According to a TSN new release, more than 1.2 unique viewers tuned in to see Scotland’s Dario Franchitti win the race.
