Welcome To M

Watch This: McDonald’s helps bring strangers together

Fast food restaurant gives unsuspecting Canadians free fries and coffee

For its latest online video, McDonald’s Canada rigged up a mall bench to offer a surprise freebie for two guests to share.

The idea: to bring strangers together when they’re least expecting it.

When two strangers sat down on the bench, the middle panel would pop out with a tray of coffees or fries. The stunt was part of a global campaign to “bring joy” to customers in 24 markets, but it’s also in-line with the brand’s new Canadian campaign, “Welcome To M,” which features stories from real customers and images of them in McDonald’s locations coast-to-coast.
