Watch This: Mike Myers plays pitchman for Sears

Myers addresses the retailer's recent struggles in 60-second TV spot

Is Sears Canada going away? The retailer says no way, and uses some star power to back up its claim: Mike Myers. The Austin Powers actor stars in Sears Canada’s new spot, which has racked up 850,000 views in the last week. In it, Myers visits his brother, Peter Myers, a long-time Sears employee, to ask about the fate of the department store chain.

Once Peter promises Sears isn’t going anywhere, Myers takes a turn playing the straight man and addresses the retailer’s struggles:  “Sears Canada has to demographically and psychographically alter the trajectory of its business model.” He even takes a stab at the brand’s former tagline, “Come see the softer side of Sears.” Take a look.
