Watch This: P.K. Subban trades his hockey stick for selfie stick

Montreal Canadien adds Sports Experts to growing list of brand's he reps

Before Sports Experts opened its new flagship location in Laval, the FGL-owned retail chain offered a tour of the new store to a very special guest: Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban.

The hockey star – who was just announced as Sports Experts’ new spokesperson – filmed the tour with a selfie stick and a bublcam that has been posted to YouTube. In the four and a half minute video, P.K. tests out the store’s hockey sticks, offers high fives to employees and rearranges the Habs jerseys, putting his own merch at the front of the display.

The new store in CF Carrefour Laval mall will serve as a flagship for the Quebec market. Like Sport Chek’s flagship store in Toronto, it incorporates technology into the retail experience. In total, there are 75 screens in the new store including a video shoe wall with touch screens, an LED ticker that offers updates from sports games and a community video wall featuring local sports information and profiles of store employees.

The new deal with Sports Experts rounds out a banner year of sponsorships for Subban, who was signed by both Gatorade and Samsung in June and starred in a RW&Co campaign this September.
