You got to know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em. The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) has launched a public service announcement to encourage gambling addicts to stop chasing losses.
In the 45-second ad, a trainer encourages a bloodied boxer to give up the fight. “That gut feeling you have? It’s an illusion,” he says. “Come on champ, your luck’s not gonna change.”
The ad directs viewers to StopTheChase.ca where they can find more information and helpful hints on how to help someone suffering with a gambling addiction. The site’s design (an endless scroll) is meant to illustrate that, for gamblers, perseverance doesn’t guarantee a pay off.
Toronto agency Red Lion developed the positioning and the work.
