The industry loved Saatchi’s “Surrender Your Say”

Saatchi & Saatchi’s campaign for Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada won best of show at the Media Innovation Awards this week after impressing a jury filled to brimming with Canada’s top media minds. “This was a campaign that I was jealous of and wished that I had been part of,” said Mindshare’s Jake Norman, jury co-chair. Big changes at Rogers Media

First, 94 staffers were let go across pretty much every segment of media operations. Then, Sportsnet’s founding editor Steve Maich was named vice-president and general manager of Rogers Publishing, taking over for Ken Whyte (who moved to Next Issue Canada). And let’s not forget that a yet-more significant change has yet to occur: the arrival of the new Rogers CEO, Guy Laurence.

Frank Friedman has huge shoes to fill

News that Sunni Boot is leaving ZenithOptimedia landed like a bomb this week, though as she told Marketing’s Chris Powell, she been working towards this for more than a year. Friedman takes over her position on Jan. 1, leaving Optimedia New York where he has been EVP and managing director.
