Winners of Young Lions, Young Marketers announced

10 young hot shots are packing their bags for France's sunny southern climes

The Globe and Mail has revealed the names of the young marketers and creative communicators set to represent Canada as Young Lions at the in Cannes this year.

Out of 287 entries in the annual Young Lions and Young Marketers competitions, a panel of award-winning Canadian creatives chose 10 of the country’s most promising under-30-year-olds. Competitors had 24 to 48 hours to make presentations to the judges based on a client brief.

YOUNG MARKETERS

  • Telis Carayannakis, associate marketing manager at PepsiCo Canada
  • Michael Holmes, assistant brand manager at Procter & Gamble

YOUNG LIONS

  • Carlly Ouellette, art director at Bensimon Byrne, and Carol Hung, an art director at K9 Strategy and Design qualified in the print category
  • Ben Prout, account director at Konrad Group, and Hannah Smit, an associate creative director at John St. will compete in the film category
  • In the cyber category, Leo Burnett will send Sally Fung, a designer and art director, and Jason Soy, a copywriter
  • Megan Metzak, national account manager with Olive Media, and Celia Gibb, a senior communications strategist with M2, will compete in the media category

“They impress us at home, and they will impress the judges in France with their energy, insights and talent. We continue to be honoured to nurture and support these young creative leaders,” said Andrew Saunders, chief revenue officer at The Globe and Mail.

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity will take place from June 21-27.
