Taxi Canada, Sid Lee and Cossette Vancouver are all in the running for an Outdoor Lion.
Leading the way is Sid Lee with three entries on the shortlist for its Raptors’ “Kyle Don’t Stop #NBAVote” poster executions encouraging fans to lobby for the Toronto Raptor for a spot on the NBA All Star team.
Cossette Vancouver is in the running for “The McSnow Report” – a digital out-of-home campaign for McDonald’s in Western Canada that used real-time snow conditions to promote three of its hot beverages.
On light snowfall days, for example, the digital board will feature the McCafé latte and its light coating of steamed milk, while on moderate days drivers will see the slightly foamier McCafé Cappuccino.
Also earning a shot at an Outdoor Lion is the Taxi-crafted campaign for SiriusXM’s Top Comic search, the winner of which took home a $25,000 prize in addition to stage time at the Just For Laughs festival. The poster shows a badly groomed dog and suggests online votes could help steer future comics away from occupations they aren’t suitable for.
Once again this year, Outdoor is the biggest competition in the International Festival of Creativity with 5,365 entries, up from 5,037 a year ago.
