St. John’s-based mobile research company Field Agent has acquired Vanter Research, a full-service research firm.
Field Agent had been partnering with Vanter Research (also based in St. John’s) for the last two years.
“When we were doing a research project for a client, it was seamless to them. But it was two companies, two brands and two contact people,” said Jeff Doucette, general manager of Field Agent.
“By bringing Vanter Research on board, it makes it more efficient for our clients to get everything from the raw data to survey design, to data delivery and reporting [from one company]. It’s all one brand, it all comes on one invoice and it all makes sense. [The move] was really customer-focused and for the simplicity of our customers, which we think will mean more business over the long term.”
Kathleen Sitter, founder of Vanter Research, is taking on the role of chief research officer of Field Agent.
Field Agent, which was founded in 2011, provides a range of mobile research offerings including surveys, shop-alongs and ethnologies, as well as audit services. It has more than 150 clients in a number of industries including CPG and retail.
With Vanter Research’s full-service research capabilities, Field Agent will position itself as a business intelligence organization, said Doucette.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
