Frank & Oak and Etsy have released a limited collection of home decor products for men, which will be available through the holiday on both e-tailers’ sites.
The nine-piece collection, which includes a diverse range of one-of-a-kind items like wall prints, soap-dishes and pillowcases, was produced by Etsy artists and curated by Frank & Oak for their young male audience.
“It’s a natural progression of the kind of products we’re offering,” said Frank & Oak co-founder Ethan Song. “When we first started Frank & Oak, we found that men care a lot more about their style, their aesthetic, and the things that surround them. Their apartment, furniture and home decor is a part of that lifestyle.”
Song said he was approached by Etsy to help put together a line of items specifically for men. Traditionally, the hand-made and one-of-kind e-tailer’s biggest customers have been women, and Etsy saw partnering with Frank & Oak as a way to appeal to a new demographic.
Aside from some grooming products, Frank & Oak hasn’t before sold products outside the menswear and shoes category. Song said the partnership was limited to the holiday season, but that based on customer feedback Frank & Oak may consider future opportunities with Etsy, and with other brands and products that fit into the men’s lifestyle category.
The full set includes numbered bicycle wall prints, screen-printed pillows made from flour sacks, a concrete soap-dish and coaster set, a caddy for grooming products, sandwich plates and a knife rack made from organ pipes. The various items were made by four American Etsy craftsmen, each working in a different medium.
The collection will be available at Etsy and Frank & Oak web stores as of November 20.
