Alain Tadros elected to lead AAPQ board of directors

The Quebec-based industry association elects new board for 2014-15

The Association of Quebec Advertising Agencies (AAPQ) has elected Alain Tadros as chairman to lead its board of directors. Tadros has served on the board for five years, including as vice-president of the executive committee. In the agency world he’s president of BCP and COO of Publicis Worldwide in Quebec.

“The role of AAPQ within our industry is more than ever essential in light of the many challenges associated with the transformation of our industry,” said Tadros, in a statement. “Cohesion and collaboration are certainly our best allies, and I intend to pursue the efforts already made to value the creative and strategic contribution of agencies to AAPQ’s various initiatives.”

Back in 2004, Tadros launched shopper marketing firm EM Agency. Publicis acquired the agency and merged it with BCP. Tadros then took the lead at BCP.

To round off a stellar 2013, he was chosen to lead the Publicis Worldwide network in Quebec.

At the AAPQ he succeeds Ann Bouthillier, CEO of Palm + Havas, who served in the role for two years. The association recognized Bouthillier’s work on its Agency Selection Guide, a planning document for marketers released last year.

“The impact of this Guide was felt both with the numerous questions and consultations that took place regarding agency search, and with the numerous calls for tenders that were launched afterwards,” the AAPQ said in a statement.

Bouthillier will remain on the board as vice-chair.

The membership also nominated another board director — Sid Lee EVP and senior partner Francois Lacoursière. He will replace exiting director Jacques-Hervé Roubert, CEO of Nurun, who served as chairman from 2010 to 2012.
