Andrew Zimakas has joined LoyaltyOne as senior vice-president of strategy.
Zimakas was most recently CMO of Tangerine, a role he held for four years before parting ways with the company last June. Zimakas oversaw the bank’s re-brand from ING Direct to Tangerine and served as a public face for the company.
Zimakas has a long history in the Canadian marketing industry. Prior to Tangerine, he was a partner and brand advisor at the consultancy firm Level5 Strategy. During that time, he also served as managing director for Level5’s Brand Finance Canada.
He was also a VP at AOL and a marketing manager at Microsoft Canada. Zimakas started his career at Procter & Gamble, where he held various marketing roles for eight years.
His hire comes as LoyaltyOne looks to grow its presence in the global market. Zimakas will work across the company’s portfolio of businesses including Air Miles, Precima, LoyaltyOne Consulting, BrandLoyalty and Dotz.
In a statement, Zimakas said, “I am incredibly excited to join LoyaltyOne with its exceptional people and culture, and its heritage for innovation and thought leadership. I look forward to working with the team to further strengthen the brand and drive global growth.”
