Quebec-based agency Brad announced the hiring of former Walmart senior vice president of operations for Eastern Canada, Chantal Glenisson.
She will be a strategic advisor on the agency’s newly created strategic committee—which also includes co-presidents Dany Renauld and Martin Bernier—to help develop retail marketing and strategy for Brad’s clients.
Renauld said the goal behind the hire is to expand the agency’s areas of expertise. Glenisson has 20 years of client-side retail experience, including her role at Walmart for more than eight years, and also as senior vice president and executive director at Quebec home improvement company Réno Dépôt.
“The objective when you’re on the client side is different. So having her give us that other perspective will be helpful for clients because she has faced in the past the same problems that we’re facing now,” Renauld said.
Glenisson will be responsible for big picture goals like giving high-level strategic advice to retail clients. She took the role at Brad as a transition from working in retail: “It’s a new experience that allows me to be a consultant during a transition period. Marketing is very important in retail and working with Brad will allow me to better understand the impact of the discipline.”
She said in a press release that she joined Brad because of the agency’s goals and values. “I am also very motivated by the idea of helping the agency’s clients improve their business results, and advising them so that they can benefit from the evolution of the retail trade.”
Brad’s roster of clients includes LEGO, Expedia, Disney, Irving, and Pizza Hut. The addition of Glenisson follows some account wins, but is also a way for the agency to expand its offering.
Renauld said, “We want to see what’s going on outside the agency. We want to deliver better advice and service for our clients. It’s always our goal to become better at everything so [Glenisson] will be part of that goal and make sure our clients see that.”
