Chango hires former Microsoft sales VP Keith Lorizio

20-year digital ad vet gives startup culture a try

Keith Lorizio has joined programmatic ad tech company Chango as chief revenue officer. He will be responsible for developing the companies sales and client strategies, and identifying new areas where the company can monetize its platform.

Lorizio comes from Microsoft Advertising, where as vice-president of U.S. sales he led a team of 450 sales reps responsible for $1 billion in annual revenue. Previously, he was vice-president of sales for Yahoo and Alta Vista. All told, he has been in senior roles in digital ad sales for more than two decades.

According to Adweek, Lorizio’s departure from Microsoft in January was not voluntary. (The announcement that he would be leaving the company was made in the weeks leading up to the hiring of new CEO Satya Nadella. The company has not yet hired a new head of U.S. sales.)

With Chango, Lorizio has made the jump to a startup focused on programmatic advertising.

“I’ve watched programmatic evolve from a concept, to a buzzword, to a fundamental strategy that is the future of online advertising,” said Lorizio, in a release. “I want to be part of the programmatic revolution. Chango is the only company that had the vision to build a powerful platform from the ground up designed specifically for live programmatic advertising.”

Chango’s former CRO and co-founder, Dax Hamman, has shifted into the role of chief product officer, where he will continue to oversee the company’s marketing efforts, as well as the development of new products.
