Raphaël Melançon, a former communications advisor for the federal government, has been hired as a consultant at Cohn & Wolfe in Montreal.
Melançon’s main tasks will be writing press releases, website content and newsletters, issues and project management and media relations. He starts at the agency on Dec. 7.
Until recently, Melançon was a communications advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the region of Quebec. He began his career at TC Transcontinental and then moved to the TVA network, where he held various positions including news editor and managing editor in the Montreal newsroom.
Melançon’s experience in politics and in newsrooms will be an asset to the agency, said André Bouthillier, managing partner of Cohn & Wolfe Montreal.
