Cossette names Michaela Charette senior strategist

Longtime beer marketer moves to the agency side of the business

Michaela CharetteFormer beer marketer Michaela Charette has joined Cossette as a senior strategist.

Charette comes to the agency’s Toronto office with more than 14 years of experience, eight and a half years of which were spent at InBev, where she was director of marketing on Budweiser, Kokanee and other top beer brands. Prior to that, she led product innovation, launching many successful line extensions including Bud Lime and Alexander Keith’s Hop Series. She has also worked extensively in the telco and financial services industries.

As VP, strategy and planning, Charette told Marketing she is looking forward to Cossette’s approach to tackling client problems.

“I had not been thinking about a job change, but I was really inspired by Cossette’s integrated philosophy. As a marketer, I have worked with a lot of agencies…you have multiple agencies, everyone doing something different,” she said.

“I am really excited to be part of a team that is integrated in terms of having a combination of disciplines and services under one roof, but also in how they think about brands – starting with insights as inspiration to in-market results… right down to how their offices is set up, it’s open space, nothing is siloed,” she added.

In her new role, Charette will report into Jason Chaney, SVP, strategy and planning.

“Michaela brings an incredible pedigree of innovation and knowledge and has shown great vision for exceptional product and communications,” said Chaney, in a release. “As we continue to work in a more consultative manner throughout the consumer journey with our clients, Michaela will undoubtedly enhance our work immediately.”
