Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada has named Joseph Peters as its chief strategy officer (CSO) and Joy Jennissen as its chief client officer (CCO).

Based in Ottawa, Peters joined the agency in August 2012 when H+K acquired Ascentum, a public engagement firm with depth in digital and research that Peters co-founded in 2003. He was previously senior vice-president and national practice leader for social, digital and public engagement at H+K.

Jennissen, who is based in the Vancouver office, has been a senior vice-president and general manager at H+K since 2006 and has been with the firm for 15 years. Her new role expands on her existing responsibilities managing some of its largest clients and includes providing strategic leadership to clients across every business unit and region. Jennissen will also continue to lead operations for the firm’s western region as general manager for B.C. and Saskatchewan.

“Our clients continue to operate in increasingly dynamic and evolving business environments that include complex organizational structures, shifting regulatory demands, more sophisticated audiences and a constant pressure to innovate,” said Goldy Hyder, president and CEO, H+K Canada, in a statement.

Hyder said in recent years, the market has demanded integrated communications consulting, but demand is continuing to shift and strategic planning and innovation is no longer focused to just a few times a year.

“It is a continuous process. The same can be said for building strong client-centric experiences. Introducing CSO and CCO leadership positions us well to continue to deliver innovative solutions and unparalleled service to our clients.”
