Mohamed Dhanani has been named vice-president of Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada’s public affairs group in Toronto after more than three years as executive officer at His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan Shia Imami Council for Canada.
H+K has also made three other hires in its government relations area, for which it is traditionally the most well-known.
Emmanuel Morin joined as senior account director, Gabe De Roche has been hired as account director and Luca Bucci has been named a senior consultant. Morin is based in Ottawa and De Roche and Bucci are in Toronto.
“Growing the [public affairs] practice and helping it evolve in the ever-changing communications space across all levels of government—municipal, provincial and federal—is important for the firm’s momentum and our clients’ successes,” said senior vice-president and practice lead Elizabeth Roscoe, in a statement.
Dhanani worked with all three levels of government at his most recent position and was a volunteer member of Toronto Mayor John Tory’s Transition Advisory Council. He has held senior advisor roles within Queen’s Park in Ontario and was the chair of the board of directors for the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network.
Morin was most recently the director of business development at Monster.ca and has worked for the Liberal Party of Canada.
De Roche held a number of senior leadership roles in the Government of Ontario, providing strategic communications, marketing, policy and stakeholder relations advice to cabinet ministers and ministries.
Bucci was responsible for strategic planning, negotiation, logistical development and execution of events at the Prime Minister’s Office of former PM Stephen Harper. He was also a senior policy advisory and issues analyst in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition at Queen’s Park.
