Soniya Monga is headed to New York.
Monga, one of Marketing’s 2013 Top 30 Under 30, has been promoted to global agency partnership lead at LinkedIn, prompting the move to New York from Hong Kong, where she’s been working as a regional account director for nearly two and a half years.
Monga has been with LinkedIn for five years and helped launch its Canadian presence back in 2010. In her new role, she will manage LinkedIn’s relationship with the Dentsu/Aegis network.
“She has an excellent understanding of our products and a fantastic reputation within LinkedIn. [Monga] has experience living and working abroad and working on a global scale,” said her new boss, LinkedIn agency senior director Jon Williams
In Hong Kong, Monga worked on accounts for several global brands that have a large presence in Asia, including Hyundai and LG. Though she was in a regional role, Monga was also responsible for the strategy and planning on LinkedIn’s global Samsung account.
In her new role, Williams said Monga will be tasked with “building a strategic partnership” with the Dentsu/Aegis agency teams “in North America and beyond.”
Monga said the chance to work closely with agencies is part of what attracted her to the new role. “Agencies must be thinkers and doers in order to help their clients succeed. In my new role, I’m looking forward to being able to drive these conversations and connections for our agency partners.”
Monga is a regular speaker and panelist at industry events, including SXSW, the Banff Digital Media Festival and the Asia Pacific Brand Marketing Summit. Most recently, she presented alongside Sir Bob Geldof and General Electric CMO Beth Comstock at One Young World in Dublin, Ireland.
