A recap of some recent comings and goings in Canadian marketing and communications
SUSAN JAMES joins Hunter Straker as head of accounts. James has worked on award winning campaigns including Dove’s Masterbrand promotional and merchandising program, Becel’s Love Your Heart Benefit Concert and the Canadian launch of Sunsilk in Canada.
BERNARD ASSELIN is now president of Bleublancrouge, replacing SEBASTIEN FAURÉ who becomes chairman of the board. Asselin was most recently vice-president, marketing and reader sales at The Montreal Gazette and vice-president, marketing for Bell ExpressVu prior to that.
ANDREW SIMON and MATTHEW STERN join GJP Advertising as partners. Simon, who left DDB earlier this month, assumes the role of chief creative officer, while Stern, formerly of McCann-Erickson Worldgroup, fills the president position.
TBWAVancouver added JEROME LECLERE to its creative team. Leclere hails from France where he worked on Vichy and Carrefour at EURO RSCG. Since moving to Canada in 2009 he has worked with Switch Interactive and Noise Digital on brands such as Tic Tac, Listerine, Band-Aid, K-Y and Playstation.
Harry&Co. hired VERONIK BASTIEN as account executive, consulting services. Bastien held positions at NewAd Pepsi, and LG2 and has worked on the Bell and CKAC accounts.
Broadcast veteran GLENN O’FARRELL replaces Claudette Paquin as president and chief executive officer of TFO. Before joining TFO, O’Farrell was president and CEO of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB).
National Public Relations added MARLO TAYLOR and JEFFREY SPIVOCK to its Toronto office. Taylor joins as vice-president of the healthcare team, while Spivock joins as senior consultant.
Postmedia Network Canada Corp. appointed CHARLOTTE F. BURKE to the boards of both Postmedia Network Canada Corp. and its subsidiary Postmedia Network Inc. Burke currently works with the Business Development Bank of Canada and also owns a consulting firm.
Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium has appointed NATHALIE COOK vice-president of marketing and partnerships for its coverage of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Cook replaces Adam Ashton, who was named Consortium president last month.
