VICENTE TRIUS is taking over as president of Loblaw Companies Limited when Allan Leighton steps down next year. Trius, a Spaniard, makes the move to Canada after serving as director for Europe for Carrefour Group, a France-based grocery retail company.
Toronto agency Zulu Alpha Kilo hired CORY PELLETIER as director of innovation. Pelletier was most recently at Taxi where he served as director of digital strategy and creative media, handling all of the network’s social media projects in both Canada and the U.S.
Olive Media hired KRISTA KADAI as the head of partnerships and product development for Olive Elite, a network of premium brand-name sites. ANGELA BEGGS joins as a research specialist; KEVIN BOYD and SHRUTI DOSAPATI join as business analysts; NAOMI CUDANIN as an executive assistant; MARIE-CHANTALE FAUCHER as a strategic account executive, and IOANA TIRTIRAU as account coordinator. Meanwhile, SARAH CORNIOLA and SANDRINE LABRIE were promoted to sales solutions and account manager, respectively.
Yorkville Education Company hired LIZ OKE as director of marketing and communications to help increase brand awareness of its four schools: Yorkville University, Toronto Film School, Academy of Design and RCC Institute of Technology. Oke spent the last year at Mercer as a digital marketing specialist.
FELICITAS ADRIAN joined Christian Children’s Fund of Canada as vice-president of marketing and communications. Adrian, who was most recently at CSI Global Education, will help develop integrated marketing and brand strategies.
MORGAN CATES and JANESSA BSIHOP joined Environics’ Toronto office as senior consultants in the firm’s healthcare and consumer practice, respectively.
Toronto Life added four members to its team. KEVIN NAULLS joins as associate online editor of the publication’s lifestyle blog, The Goods. MALCOLM JOHNSTON and PETER SALTSMAN join as assistant editors, while TRACY MA joins as a junior designer.
