The Garden brought on MIKE KOVACS as a project cultivator, a role that combines client service with project management and production. Kovacs has over six years of account service experience and was most recently at Juniper Park\TBWA. SARAH PHILIPS joined as strategist after freelancing with The Garden since last June. Prior to that, she held roles as a journalism professor at Humber College, and in account service at McCann Canada and Zulu Alpha Kilo. Lastly, ADRIANA MAHALEAN joined as a designer. During her career, Mahalean has worked on such brands as LCBO, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Herman Miller and Sun Life Financial.
DON JARVIS joined Edelman’s Ottawa office as a strategic advisor. He has held senior executive roles in the agri-food and consumer products industry for 40 years and has provided clients with public policy and regulatory advice as a consultant over the past 25 years. He was most recently the president and CEO of the Dairy Processors Association of Canada.
CYNTHIA MUDD joined Toronto content company Heyd & Seek as executive producer. Mudd has 12 years experience in production and post production shops around Toronto including Topix VFX & Animation, Radke, Brown Entertainment and Holiday Films. Long-time agency producer Cynthia Heyd formed Heyd & Seek last year to help agencies struggling to cope with the growing appetite for content in the digital age.
Vapor RMW hired voice director KAREN GOORA to boost its client offerings. Goora spent more than a decade working at Toronto-based audio house Grayson Matthews, and has also worked at Disney. She has collaborated with dozens of celebrities, from Meryl Streep to Miley Cyrus to Simpsons voice veteran Nancy Cartwright.
ANDREA ELLISON was hired as Global Public Affairs’ vice-president of national communications to coordinate and lead the firm’s national communications practice and oversee new business development initiatives. With more than 20 years of PR and corporate communications experience, she will provide strategic counsel and develop a variety of strategic communication programs. As well, ANDREA CHRYSANTHOU was hired as a senior consultant. She has more than 10 years of communications, public relations and media experience; prior to joining Global, she served as the North America PR manager for Travelzoo.
Kijiji named LEANNE KRIPP as head of sales, auto. In her new position, Kripp is tasked with bringing her entrepreneurial approach to identify business opportunities and partnerships that will support the continued growth of the autos vertical. Kripp also previously held a role with Yellow Pages Group as Vice President, Sales for Western Canada
Brand Momentum added MICHAEL OWEN and GLEN DENEAULT to its sales and merchandising division. Owen brings with him more than 30 years experience in sales and marketing. He was most recently at Advantage Sales & Marketing. Denault spent more than 18 years working in consumer packaged goods, and spent the last 12 years with Mondelez International as retail effectiveness manager. In addition, BRON SARABUN was promoted to director of client services of sales and merchandising.
