Bensimon Byrne brought on ERIN O’CONNOR as VP, group account director, LISA GOOD as vice-president group account director and DEBRA KAVCHAK-TAYLOR as lead strategist. O’Connor has been a group account director at Cossette for the past five years, handling clients such as General Mills, the Canadian Olympic Committee and PwC. She held a similar role at DraftFCB before that, and has been an account executive at Leo Burnett and Ogilvy & Mather. Kavchak-Taylor comes from the client side, having been with Molson Coors since 2002, and rising to the position of VP of marketing insights, media and beer reverence. Good came from Grip Ltd., where she worked with clients such as RBC and Honda.
Edelman hired RYAN SEMENIUK as the first creative director of its Vancouver office. Over the past twelve years, Semeniuk has been an art director for Taxi, Fuel Industries and Tribal DDB in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver, and has worked with clients such as Sony, Telus and Budweiser.
Index Exchange has a new director of research and insights, LIZZIE KOMAR, who comes from AdExchanger Research. In her new role, Komar will analyze and draft business intelligence reports based on the hundreds of billions of impressions sold through the various marketplaces powered by Index’s platform, such as the Canadian Premium Audience Exchange (CPAX). Previously at AdExchanger, she developed research content on trending topics in digital advertising like retargeting tactics, cross-device measurement and fraud. Before joining AdExchanger she held various roles at Forrester Research.
The Globe and Mail made two new additions to its Globe Alliance sales team. ADAM BAILEY and TERRA SHAREK will manage advertiser accounts and build custom solutions across Globe Alliance partner brands Elite Daily, Us Weekly, Rolling Stone, ABC News and the Guardian. Bailey was previously a sales rep at Postmedia, and has spent time at Toro Magazine, Quebecor Media and Tribal Fusion. Sharek joins from the agency side. She was most recently at Dentsu Aegis Media, and has previously been at OMD and Mediacom.
SHAWN JAMES returned to Taxi 2 as associate creative director after a year and a half at Zulu Alpha Kilo and two years at BBDO. James was an art director at Taxi from 2005 to 2006. Through his career he’s worked on brands like Audi, FedEx and McDonald’s.
